There's no doubt about it, the videography and photography fields are converging. Some are calling it the Next Digital Revolution. The commercial photography industry is now requiring video and with the advent of cameras like the Canon 5D MarkII and the Nikon D90, it's only a matter of time before the entire Still and Motion Picture industries are affected.

BAPVA is honored to welcome professional photographer and marketing guru, David Jay. David is considered by many to be one of the top photographers in the country and a leader in the field of marketing and trends in the photographic industry. He has a huge following with over 7000 followers on Facebook and Twitter combined. He regularly speaks to industry professionals all over the world and just last year completed a speaking tour sponsored by Adobe.

David Jay: Marketing and Exploiting the Convergence of Videography & Photography

David will be covering the convergence of our industries, changes and new trends in marketing and ways to best position your company for the future.

Convergence - The Next Digital Revolution

Everyone is buzzing about the idea of a single visual artist, a convergence of both the Photographer and Videographer. In the past these professions have been separate, but now, thanks to Red, Canon & Nikon, there is a blending, a convergence of the two developing.

David will give his perspective on what might happen in the next 5 years and how you might start making adjustments to your business to keep up. Is this really the next digital revolution?

The Future of Marketing

Social media is reshaping the entire Marketing industry. It's a major game changer and understanding how it impacts the approach to marketing is essential.

David will explain the new trends in social media, what's hot, fresh and new, and what's slipping to the sidelines. He will cover the power these tools can have on word-of-mouth marketing, networking, building your Brand / Reputation and making your business more viable in the future.

The Importance of Building a Social Media Supported Website

In this new world, the website will continue to be an integral part of your marketing approach. You need a great website and it needs to be updated regularly. It needs to integrate smoothly with all the popular social media platforms. It has to display both Video and Photography well, and be functional yet pleasing to the eye.

David will address how best to develop, maintain and use your website and social media to promote your Brand and expand your business.

David's company ShowItFast, Inc will be offering free accounts to those interested in helping develop Showit Sites for Videographers. He will also be offering large discounts to all those who attend.
